Welcome to Ashkes Acres

We are a small breeding farm located in East Central Alberta.

Ashkes Acres is our labor of love. Horses have always been a part of my life. My parents and grandparents raised horses and I was given a wonderful life full of  amazing horse flesh. My love of Arabians came through my grandparents who raised them for many years. My Mom and Stepfather raised Quarter Horses, through them was my introduction to to Skipper W.

It wasn't till i was 20 that my love affair with Thoroughbreds began. While working on the race track the TB's captured my heart with their amazing personalities and dispositions.I took 15 yrs off of horses to raise my boys and moved back to Alberta to make my equine dreams come true.

In Jan of 98 I met Steve and so we jumped in to the world of breeding with our purchase "That's Our Effort" in Augsut '06, from Lisa Wilson in Ont. Steve & I are so thankful to Lisa for allowing us to purchase Tony. He is not only carries bloodlines I am smitten with he is the most amazing stallion to work with.He is all she said he was, and then a whole bunch more.
We are expecting his 1 st foal crop for 'us' in spring '08

To Darcie of Conlon Paint Horses for putting color into my world with Raven and Rez .As well as teaching me way more about Paint horses then I ever imagined, Darcie is one of the smartest woman I know. With out her there would be no color here.

I also want to thank Brandy Salmond of Calico Quarterhorses. For selling us Faith & Ethel. We are so proud to have these wonderful 'Girls' in our Broodmare pen.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our farm and stop by frequently to read updates and read about all the horses of Ashkes Acres and the events which have lead us to where we are today .

Our Little site is still under contruction so check back often for updates
