I have found the reserve provided by the russian fuel taps to be not very much, I think reserve should kick in when you ared down to about a quarter of a tank, not when it really is nearly empty....

Yes, I had a blockage in the crossover tube before I changed to two taps in one of my Urals, very difficult to daignose the reason for runnng on one cylinder, on the road.. ha ha.
