"In Memory"
This section is devoted to Owls who have passed away.
If you would like to post some memories about an Owl
who has passed away, whether recent or long ago, please do.

This old song, made popular by Jim Ed Brown, reminds me of home and the gentle souls who wait for us, as the verse says, in God's Eternal Love.

Little Jimmy Brown
There's a village hidden deep in the valley, among the pine trees, half forlorn.
And there, on a sunny morning, Little Jimmy Brown was born.
All the chapel bells were ringing in the little valley town,
And the song that they were singing was for baby Jimmy Brown.

Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above.
Lead us not into temptation, bless this hour of meditation, guide him with Eternal Love.

There's a village hidden deep in the valley, beneath the mountains high above.
And there, 20 years thereafter, Jimmy was to meet his love.
All the chapel bells were ringing, 'twas a great day in his life,
'Cause the songs that they were singing were for Jimmy and his wife.

Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above.
Lead us not into temptation, bless, oh Lord, this celebration, may their lives be filled with love.

From the village, hidden deep in the valley, one rainy morning, dark and gray,
A soul winged it's way to heaven.  Jimmy Brown had passed away.
Just a lonely bell was ringing in the little valley town.
'Twas farewell that it was singing to our good old Jimmy Brown.

And the little congregation prayed for guidance from above.
Lead us not into temptation, may his soul find the salvation of Thy Great Eternal Love.

Sarah Audrey Rowe - June 19, 1941 - May 10, 2006 - posted by her daughter
I am posting this for my mother, Sarah Audrey Rowe, class of 1960 (known as Audrey).  It is with great sadness that I write this, shedding some tears with every keystroke.  May 10th, God decided He needed her more in Heaven than on Earth.  Audrey would have been 65 years old June 24th.  She graduated the top 10 of her class in 1960, was supposed to give a speech during the graduation, but left for Ohio without giving it.  She wanted me to say she was sorry she didn't give it, but she wanted to get to Ohio so badly that she just left.  She has written many books and poems, still waiting to be published... we were trying so hard to get them out.  She loved West Virginia and said it was the prettiest place that God had made.  She went on to have one child, Angelisa, taught children and started a Junior Church Program for over 44 years, grandmother to two children (Kristina and Saraissa named for her), worked over 10 years at Montgomery County Children Services and was a full time caretaker for her mother, Kathryn V. Rowe, who is still living at 84 years.  Audrey was a good Christian woman who was devoted to doing God's will.  Audrey was on her way to pick up her granddaughters when a truck went left of center, hitting her head on.  I had just seen her not more than an hour before the accident.  She was conscious and coherent at the scene, wanting to make sure someone called me so her mother would be alright and so the kids would be picked up.  I was told she just had a head injury... it was so much worse than that.  I never got to speak to her at the hospital, but I know she knew I loved her.  I just wish I could have said it one last time. Audrey spoke fondly of Mildred Ayers, a missionary who taught children one evening a week and visited grade schools Thursdays and Fridays, teaching the children about God.  My mother loved Miss Ayers, and told me how she had no money most of the time, very little food, and her poor car ran on faith just as she did.  My mother learned a lot from her. The mountains were a friend to my mother.  She has poems dating back to school days.  She would lose herself in her poems and short stories.  She was fashionably late to most events with the exception of church.  ~Mrs. Rowe was a member of this website, and this message was posted by her daughter.

Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven?  Would you feel the same If I saw you in heaven?  I must be strong and carry on.  'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.  Would you hold my hand If I saw you in heaven?  I'll find my way through night and day.  'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven.  Time can bring you down.  Time can bend your knees.  Time can break your heart.  Have you begging please.  Begging please...  Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure.  And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.  Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven?  Would you feel the same If I saw you in heaven?  I must be strong and carry on.  'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.  If any of her friends want to visit her myspace site feel free at myspace.com/virgilsangel.  You can also leave comments if you like.  Her site is being managed by loved ones to keep her memory alive.
