Waiting
Waiting,
Eyes behind dark glasses,
Sleeping in daylight
In secret agony.
Waiting
As planes soar and dive
But still no one knocks
To say, " I'm home, honey!"
Waiting
For news of mirth
'Bout coupling and hurdling
this world is full of.
Waiting
Amidst chloroform and antiseptics
For that hesitant wail
Of the stork's primordial gift.
Waiting
In deafening silence
Yet joyful dalliance
For his declaration of love.
Waiting
On tenterhooks and bated breath
For sentences, inferences
Pronouncements and final messages.
Waiting
For an eternity of numbed fear
Of what will be atlast
When I receive the fatal shock.
Waiting, waiting, waiting
Can't we ever stop waiting
For once in our lives?
