Gentle Warning...i was reminded of a few things from an old journal today.

1. Don't equate the amount of faith you have with what God will do with it. The mustard seed was an illustration of the kingdom of God. It didn't NEED to big!

2. Don't use the Bible to talk about yourself...what you have accomplished or done, but what Christ has done in you.

3. Similar, don't use the Bible to justify your deeds. If you are operating out of love, it should be evident.

4. Don't base your teaching on your experience but the truth held in the Word of God.

I can attest that each of these is good advice as i have broken all of them and gotten into trouble!

PS.... i was watching a clip of David Chappelle on the actor studio and he said some things really interesting. He was commenting on the fact that many in Hollywood are doing things that appear strange and people are saying that in fact they (the actors) are crazy. And Dave replies to the effect that, you know, maybe the envirnment we are in is sick. Hmm. A truly gifted, inteligent (you don't have to like him) man in the industry who thinks something is WRONG---Sick with the culture he finds himself. wow.
