GUARDIAN ANGEL PRAYER by St. Gertrude
O MOST holy Angel of God, appointed by God to be my guardian, I give thee thanks for all the benefits which thou hast ever bestowed on me in body and soul. I praise and glorify thee that thou condescended to assist me with such patient fidelity, and to defend me against all the assaults of my enemy.Blessed be the hour in which thou were assigned me for my guardian, my defender and my patron. In acknowledgment
and return for all thy loving ministries to me, I offer thee the infinitely precious and noble Heart of Jesus, and firmly purpose to obey thee henceforward, and most faithfully to serve my God. Amen.
O my good Angel, whom God, by His Divine mercy, hath appointed to be my guardian, enlighten and protect me, direct and govern me this day. Amen. Each soul has a guardian angel whose purpose is to shepherd him through life, and help bring him to God. The angel remains his guardian for the person's entire earthly life.
No evil shall befall you, nor shall affliction come near your tent, for to His Angels God has given command about you, that they guard you in all your ways. Upon their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Psalm 91: 10-12
God our Father, in your loving providence you send your holy angels to watch over us. Hear our prayers, defend us always by their protection and let us share your life with them for ever. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Angel of God ANGEL OF GOD, my Guardian dear,
To whom His love commits me here,
Ever this day [or night] be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
My good Angel,
Thou comest from heaven;
God has sent thee to take care of me.
Oh, shelter me under thy wings.
Lighten my path, direct my steps.
Do not leave me,
stay quite near me
and defend me against the spirit of evil.
But above all come to my help
in the last struggle of my life.
Deliver my soul so that with thee it may praise,
love and contemplate the goodness of God

Novena to Your Guardian Angel for the Relief of the Holy Souls To be said for nine consecutive days. O HOLY ANGEL, whom God, by the effect of His goodness and His tender regard
for my welfare, has charged with the care of my conduct, and who assists me in all
my wants and comforts me in all my afflictions, who supports me when I am discouraged
and continually obtains for me new favors, I return thee profound thanks, and I
earnestly beseech thee, O most amiable protector, to continue thy charitable care
and defense of me against the malignant attacks of all my enemies. Keep me away
from all occasions of sin. Obtain for me the grace of listening attentively to thy
holy inspirations and of faithfully putting them into practice, In particular, I implore thee
to obtain for me the relief and deliverance of all the Souls in Purgatory, the ones who
prayed for the Souls themselves while still on earth; the forgotten and abandoned Souls;
the souls of my relatives and friends; the souls of priests and religious; the souls of all
those to whom I am obligated by charity to pray for and may have neglected by laxity
in memory; and most especially for the Soul I here name in this novena. [Mention the person or think of him.] Protect me in all the temptations and trials of this life. but most especially at the
hour of my death, and do not leave me until thou hast conducted me into the
presence of my creator in the mansions of everlasting happiness. Amen.
