OUTREACH
We have 2 major projects: Cuddle quilts and Battered Women's Shelter bags
CUDDLE QUILT GUIDELINES:
Each member is asked to provide two (2) quilts annually to the Guild outreach project.
Kits for making Outreach quilts are available at many Guild meetings at no charge.
You may also use your own materials, or buy a pre-quilted panel and bind it.
Please wash, check for pins, and sew our Guild label on before donating quilts.
Quilts can be turned in at monthly meetings, or by contacting a member of the Outreach committee listed in the newsletter.
We are asking that members sign their name on the list at the table when they turn in a quilt or donate fabric so we will be able to thank everyone at the end of the year.
WHERE THE QUILTS GO:
Programs that are recipients of Outreach Quilts include:
1. Presbyterian Hospital Hemby Childrens Hospital
2. Battered Women's Shelter
3. Carolina Medical Center
4. A Child's Place
This is a school for homeless children located in the First Presbyterian Church in uptown Charlotte. Typically it has about 18 children each day whose ages range form 5 to 13. The Guild provides nap quilts for younger children.

LABELS:
We have lovely printed labels with CQG written on them available. These may be sewn on and you may add your signature with appropriate pen if you wish. Ask anyone on the Outreach Committee for a supply of these labels.
BATTERED WOMEN'S SHELTER COLLECTION:
Collecting items for the Battered Women's Chelter is an ongoing project of the Outreach Committee. Please bring toiletries and/or decoarted and filled bags to the next meeting. Check out the toiletry items on sale weekly at big drug stores. Dollar stores are also a good place to shop. Keep in mind items for the children at the shelter, such as small toothbrushes, coloring books, etc. Kits are made up by Outreach from these donated items. Thanks for your cooperation.
