Coda Meeting Format
Short Version:
Good Morning/Evening and welcome to the Co-Dependents Anonymous Meeting.
My name is ______. I am your meeting leader today/tonight.
It is important for each of us to speak as we are able. We encourage people to begin slowly and carefully. It is the intention of this group not to ridicule or embarrass anyone.
Nothing that is shared is unimportant or stupid.
Crosstalk and feedback are discouraged.
Please help me open this meeting with a moment of silence for those still suffering, followed by the Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to tell the difference.
Amen
We welcome the newcomers who are attending their first, second or third meeting. We also welcome all others in attendance.
The topic today/tonight is _______________________.
Let us begin. Type ! to be recognized and wait for the 'go ahead'. It is tradition that you start your share with your first name and the program you follow. When you are finished, please end your share with 'done'.
*************************************************************
As we bring this meeting to a close, I would like to remind you that CoDA is an anonymous program. We ask that what you see here, what is said here, when you leave there, let it stay here.
Now we will close this meeting with the CoDA closing prayer.
We thank our higher power
For all we have received from the meeting.
As we close, may we take with us
The wisdom, love, acceptance and hope of recovery.
Amen
This room is now open for chatting!
Long Version:
Good Morning/Evening and welcome to the Co-Dependents Anonymous Meeting.
My name is __________. I am your meeting leader today/tonight.
Co-Dependents Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from co-dependency.
The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and loving relationships.
There are no dues or fees for CoDA membership; we are self-supporting. CoDA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.
Our primary purpose is to recover and carry the message to other co-dependents who still suffer.
It is important for each of us to speak as we are able. We encourage
people to begin slowly and carefully. It is the intention of this group
not to ridicule or embarrass anyone.
Nothing that is shared is unimportant or stupid.
Crosstalk and feedback are discouraged. (click http://groups.msn.com/CodependentsChat/crosstalk.msnw to find out more about Crosstalk)
