I am a writer,director, and producer. I usually only work on my own projects, but always consider interesting films and projects. I just completed my third film, which came out ok. I own all my own equipment, shooting with a Xl1s and edit with a G5 and finalcut. I would really like to meet other independent film makers in Denver. I wish there was a bigger scene here, mayeb someday. I'd like to start a underground film fest here which would cater to helping others get there projects going. MICHAEL CONTI is Crazy Wisdom™ Films. Getting his start in Colorado through a variety of production work including a stint at the Colorado Film Commission, Michael went to Hollywood in 1987 as a production assistant working at Roger Corman's Studio in Venice. Several jobs later, including a stint as an assistant talent agent, Michael played a part in developing award-winning video and story-based content for the emerging interactive entertainment industry i.e. computer game industry. Michael also worked at several different studios, including Paramount where he was an assistant to Director Bruce Robinson during the preproduction on JENNIFER EIGHT. In 1999, Michael received an offer from Mattel to join a think tank in Portland Oregon with Intel in the development of smart toys for children. The end result was the launch of the Digital Movie Creator into the market for Christmas 2001. Michael received a US Patent (US0068116071B2) recently for one aspect of this unique toy now sold under the name Sonic Blue. He returned to Colorado in the fall of 2002, and currently resides in Boulder. Since March 2002, Conti directed one short film a month. His work is known internationally and has been screened at The Emerging Filmmakers Project, Moondance International Film Festival, Trigger Street, ManiaTV!, Amazon/Tribeca Online Film Festival, Westcliffe Digital Video Festival, Pikes Peak Community College, The Red Reel, Loveland's Independent Filmmakers Showcase, Colorado Chautauqua Association Forum Series, Forest Room Five through Group101 Films Colorado monthly screenings. Michael founded the Colorado Chapter of Group101 Films in April 2003, and it now has over 250 members. Since 2003, Michael has been teaching a quarterly intensive weekend class entitled MAKE A SHORT FILM through Colorado Free University and Boulder Digital Arts. In October of 2003, Michael launched The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival in the United States which is based upon the 7 year and running event in Australia and New Zealand. This first event drew over 400 participants in 74 teams and is now an annual event held every October in Boulder. Michael also operates a multimedia company where he provides a variety of full services to clients utilizing the video arts. Alchemy 4 was established in 2003, and has a range of local and national clients.
