Got letter 8/6, cyber has not yet responded. If do not respond by 8/14 my credits will be permanent. Also used return protection. Sent stuff today. Told if I win dispute, to call them and they will cancel my claim.

CR provides a service and they did not perform that service

I argued with AMEX four different times and they put temporary credits on my account and then took them back off. They are now saying that CR only provides merchandise and not services and that is why they will no longer allow me to submit disputes. I just fired a letter off to the Sr VP of customer relations Barry Arnold, 777 American Express Way, Ft. Lauderdale, FL,33337(all you other AMEXers please write to him). If I don't get a response, I guess my only other alternative is a class action law suit. Amex is using the whole grey area of service vs merchandise as their point of arguement. What about all of the finance charges that I am paying them to protect me from these types of things???

Very thankful for this one! Charges dated from mid January to mid May. They have promised to send me a check, as I had a credit balance after the chargebacks.

I finally discovered this web site in August and decided to try writing a letter to my VISA company despite the time that's passed. (My purchases were from Jan. thru April.) My letter was similar to two lengthy ones posted on this site, and I included a ton of documentation. I was surprised and very happy to have gotten a positive response from Bank of America. They will research the dispute and my accnt. may be recharged, but for now they have kindly credited my account. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Conditional credits were posted to my account as soon as they received my phone call. I followed up with a letter and documentation. They have sent it to the merchant bank, so I'm crossing my fingers that mine isn't one the merchant bank decides to fight. Two different CSRs at Citibank have told me that interest will NOT be calculated back to the date of the original credit should the charge be reinstated.
