STEP EIGHT

Continue to share, read, pray, and meditate so as to grow stronger emotionally, physically, and spiritually one day at a time.

Just the willingness to change will help bring about changes.  It will come in time.  All that can be done now is Step Eight - to continue reading, praying, and meditating.  Continue attending meetings and sharing, or continue contact and communication with DERP through the website community.  Write when there is the need.  Call or chat with other members or a PSF if you have one.
Just like a garden needs to be kept clear of weeds, we need to tend to our "garden", ourselves, so that our "weeds" - our old, self-defeating ways - won't recapture our lives.  We had ignored problems until they multiplied.
Our inattention to our behavior allowed ineffective behavior to create havoc in our lives.  We now monitor, through sharing, meditation, and/or journaling, our actions and reactions to life situations.  We must remain mindful to not judge ourselves harshly.  We need to nurture ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually with daily vigilance, loving, understanding, and patience, for life is not static, but constantly changing, requiring adjustment and growth.

What behavioral changes am I making or still need to make?

How can I begin to relate better with other people?

How am I already beginning to relate better?
