WHAT IS DERP?

Disordered Eaters' Recovery Program is a free support group for people who are:
-Anorexic,
-Bulimic,
-Compulsive Overeaters,
-Binge Eaters,
-Exercise Bulimics,
-Compulsive Diet Obsessors,
-Diabulimics (diabetics who skip their insulin shots in order to lose weight),
-Orthorexics (obsessed with eating only organic, vegetarian, "healthy" foods),
-Citophobics (fear of food, e.g. afraid certain foods will cause choking or vomiting),
-those who Fear Eating in Public,
-those who have Muscle Dysmorphia (fear of being too skinny although quite buff-
usually suffered by those who weight-train).

There is an essay on each step, followed by questions for your personal reflection and journaling.

HOW IT WORKS

Make a plan, such as how you would like to eat that day or at a certain event, or what you will or will not buy during your next trip to the grocery store.  Commit your plan to DERP, on the message board or while chatting.  When you're overwhelmed with feelings and don't want to feel them, journal, meditate, or contact DERP or someone you trust, such as your therapist.
In your own time, reflect on the essay for each of the Steps and journal on the reflection questions.  Share what you are learning about yourself and with what you are struggling either on this site or with your therapist or trusted friend.  Perhaps writing your feelings and struggles on the board may be enough to help you, even if no one responds for awhile.  We want to be here for you.  Feel free to write.
Please,  do not advocate eating disorders or give any "hints" on how to promote the unhealthy behaviors.
