 Rules

Oh yes, there are rules...

These rules apply to the site in general, but specifically to areas where members can submit content. This includes the Message Boards, Pictures, and Chat areas.

eenTay is an open and supportive community. Each and every member is welcome and encouraged to express themselves. We want every member to feel comfortable expressing themselves and we strive to ensure that the responses they receive will be those of knowledge and insight.

We want eenTay itchWay to be a positive and enriching place for everyone, so we have a few rules that we ask you to follow. It is important that all members and visitors feel comfortable with the content on this site.

Message boards:

Please try to post under the appropriate board. As you will see, we have several different boards, and we'd like to keep them as organized as possible. There are a few basic rules about posting that need to be covered:

  • Profanity, violence, sexually explicit content, etc. will not be tolerated on the message boards. This rule must be upheld by all means.
  • The message boards are not a place for spamming or posting advertisements. This isn't to say that you can't advertise- if you wish to post an advertisement it is imperative that you have a manager's approval.
  • Respect the opinions of other members – by all means disagree and express your own opinions but please do so in a respectful manner. In general, treat others with the same respect with which you would like to be treated. Also, respect for all religious beliefs is essential.
  • Plagiarism: Please, try to avoid plagiarizing the work of another. Similarly- when appropriate, please note the source of anything that you post. (Be it a spell, a recipe, a graphic, an article, etc.) In creating this site, we try our very best to respect everyone's work and we encourage our members to do the same. On this note, please do not use any of the artwork, information, writings, or any other content on eenTay for any purposes other than that of your own without first obtaining permission from either the managers, the contributer, or the source. This is intellectual theft and, in many cases, plagiarism or copyright infringement. If you would like to use any of the content on eenTay for used other than your personal or noncommercial uses (on another website, for example) please contact us and we would be very happy to help you out.
  • Exercise basic internet safety. We're sure you know this, but we still feel that it's worth mentioning. Use caution in disclosing personal information, such as the name of your school, your address, and your first and last names. There really isn't a need to post these things on the site, anyway. Also, meeting up with people that you've met over the internet is a horror story waiting to happen and, in our opinion, isn't a wise move. Simply exercise common sense and good judgement and you will have nothing to worry about.

Privacy:

  • Respect people's right to remain anonymous- some people may want to remain more or less anonymous. Not everyone wants to post personal information about themselves on the site, such as their real name, where they live, or what school they go to. Please be mindful of this- everyone has the right to their own privacy in this regard, especially on the internet. If you realize that you may know another member in "real life", please don't post about it on the site. It is unlikely that you will run into this situation, but it is entirely possible. If you should choose to approach them, do it  pivately through email or some other means rather than on the message boards or in chat. In the same token, don't call people by their real names if you do know them unless you're sure it's okay. The same goes for disclosing any personal information about them.
  • Email addresses-  people who post their email on this site, whether it be in their profile or the message boards or wherever, do so because they want to make new friends or talk to likeminded people. Perhaps they are offering a particular skill, fielding questions, or offering advice. Please be respectful of our members- do not misuse their addresses. Nobody wants to receive your forwards or emails detailing the story of your life and all your problems unless they invite it.

Please follow these rules out of respect for the site, its members, and the managers. Failure to abide by them will have consequences and can result in banning. This isn't to say that you should avoid dark or controversial topics- these are certainly welcome by all means, but be sensitive to the feelings and beliefs of others. The last thing that we are trying to do is censor you. These rules are in place to ensure that everyone eenTay is respectful of the community and its members.

If, for whatever reason, you wish to speak to us concerning the behaviour of another member, you can e-mail the managers to report abuse. (Just wait ‘til you see our Good Cop/Bad Cop routine!) Also, if you are unsure whether the content that you wish to post is suitable, please email us and we'll be sure to let you know.

In addition to our site rules, we expect you to follow the MSN Code of Conduct at all times, seeing as eenTay itchWay is an MSN Group. Your failure to abide by MSN's Code of Conduct can get our group in big trouble. Don't let it be you.

If you should fail to abide by the site rules of the MSN Code of Conduct, we'll be sure to let you know. In most cases it will only be a friendly reminder, in others a warning will most certainly be issued. Some cases may necessitate suspension or banning from the group.

All the information on the side bar is the intellectual property of the managers and the conrtibuters. The site's managers and contributers have put a lot of time and effort into this web site. By all means, the information is for your personal use but not for use in your own site or any publication. We always name our sources and in some cases, we need to get special permission. Please ask a manager (or the author directly, if possible) about using any of the material on this site including anything you find on the message boards.
