Nihan Betances (Soke) Began his Martial Arts training in 1972 Founder of Gaku Jutsu Aiki Yudansha level in aikido, Kenpo, and judo. Rated in different levels in other combat arts. Nihan's Aikido has been taught to all the government's security and police agencies in Dominican Republic such as S.W.A.T, Rapid Response Team, Air Force, Army, And Police Academy. It is our honor and pride that Nihan Dante Betances, was recently recognized in the united states as the founder of Gaku Jutsu Aiki. Official member of the world sokeship council. Nihan's vision is to preserve on it's purest form O’Sensei’s Aikido in new jersey, Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico with out all the looking for money Federations that currently claim to keep Aikido at it’s purest Form, Nihan believes Aikido is a way of life, it is a mission one that requires many sacrifices, those which we are willing to take head on like we have for the last decade. This is why he decided to be a stand alone system not attached to any Federation. Sensei A. Villaroel holds a 3rd degree black belt and is the president of Gaku Jutsu Aiki. He is the highest authority in Gaku Jutsu Aiki in the absence of Nihan. Sensei Emmanuel Maura (3 erd. degree Black Belt ) sensei E.Maura. Is a 3rd degree black belt who started in the gajuki system at a very early age, one who has devoted his life to the teachings of his master, one who glows with aiki when in the dojo and outside of it. Today e.maura is the wasa kaicho of the gajuki system "wasa kaicho" means technical director. The guardian of the technical aspects of gajuki in the Dominican Republic, A true samurai at heart. ( one who serves ), His connection with aiki is impeccable demonstrating the ability to remain calm in the midst of chaos, A true martial artist.
