A_to_do_list
1/13/2004 3:14 PM Posted by jmatt21
I have put this up so that people can either post here what they want to see added to the Group, or they might want to post a time that they want to go on the chat room. In other words, its a to do list, for everybody to see. Anybody can post a message and anybody can edit any of the messages. To add something to a message, click on Edit Message, at the top of the page. The messages will then come up on another page. On the left, next to each message is a picture of a pencil, click on the pencil, and the page will open that will allow you to edit the messages. Don't worry about deleting anything, if there's things out of date, I may do that myself, or just leave in, depends on whats there. Don't forget, after you finished editing that message, you must click on 'SAVE CHANGES', otherwise you will loose whatever you have written. 13th Jan. I just realised that this could get confusing, so if people want to post on here, could they date the message, and use a different colour to the last person. Sorry to be such a pain. John.

Hi, I was just wondering, I know next to nothing about Campbell's hamsters, and how to care for them, and was wondering if there was anybody whowould like to write something for the site, about care, temperament, the cages they use, and anything else they think might be usefull. Thanks for your help, John. (please Edit this message to show what you want to write about, instructions on how to do that, are in previous post, thanks, John) John, I'd like to write a little something just how in a short time I learned some valuable things for my campbells. I have been lucky to be able to have had them and I still have one little girl hamster. I'll try to find a little time to do that soon. Littlefoot Hi Littlefoot, I would like it very much if you could do that. Your experience will be invaluable. Thank you. Hi, I was wondering if anybody had managed to write anything on the care of Campells yet, sorry to be pushy, but the site is now public, and there's nothing in the Campbell's section. Thanks for the help. John.

Chat Room I was justwondering what people thought about starting up the Chat room again. Its been a long time since we used it, and I for one used to enjoy chatting to people when it was used. What do you think? John. (Please Edit this message to show if you want start using the Chat room again, and when you will be there. I will post times on the 'What's New' page, if peope would like to. Instructions on how to Edit messages, are in the first Message on this page. thanks, John) Well, I for one would like to use the chat room, but I'm not sure when would be a good time due to the time change. I know that John is 7 hours ahead of me. Maybe those in England should just pick a day and time and then I'll see if I'm around at that hour on my time. Terrilynn Chats are fun. I can't commit myself to doing it, but if I happen to see a chat announced and it's a time I can be there, well here really, then sure. kanebob

Hi everybody, I've put up a new calendar, as the one on MSN can only be used if you are subscribed. I wander if somebody could test it out for me, to make sure I've installed it properly, to see if everybody can use it. I've also added some birthdays to the calendars. If you do not see your birthday posted there, you may add it yourself, or let me know and I can it for you. Thanks, Terrilynn

Going Public. I am going to repeat the message, here that I sent to the Forums about going public, just in case people didn't get it. I know this past few months Hamsterhouse has gone invisible to the outside world, because there is some things on here that are personal. Now that the site has started to grow, and more information is on here, I am considering putting the site back into public view, so more people can benefit from the information. As it is now, and the fact that there are only a few people that actually use the site, only those people on here, are able to benefit from what we are doing. I understand that the some people may not want to have that information to go into the public domain. What do people think of this idea? If people are in agreement with it, but do not like the idea that the information will be for all to see, they are welcome to remove anything from the site they feel necessary to remove. Personally I think it would be a pity, as I believe that is what makes this site so friendly. Even though the site is still in the process of being improved, with everybodies permission I would like to open in a week from today. Ammended section 13th January 2004: If we go public, it will mean that people will be able to see our e-mail addresses, but MSN has a setting that will allow poeple to hide e-mail address from public view. To do this you will have to go to Tools, then Check Your E-Mail Settings, then under your e-mail address there is a little box that has, Allow other group members to see my e-mail address if you untick that, your e-mail address will be hidden from view.
I am hoping that this is ok with everybody, and I hope that I haven't hurt anybodies feeling by doing this. John.

Could you add a diabetes page for campbells mainly as that is where it is dominating right now, but also in other species of hamsters as it does sometimes appear in them too. Links to the yahoo diabetes group could be offered too. 13th Jan. Hi Kathy, thank you for mentioning it. I'm waiting for some information to be compiled by Jane. She's not very well at the moment, but as soon as she gets better she said she'd doing something on Diabetes for Campbells. Once I have stuff set up on the Campells side I will be putting her Link in there, but you can find it in the Favourite Hamster Website List, on the side bar. John.

Breeders List I wonder what people think about this, I was wondering if those of you who breed hamsters, would like a breeders list to be put up. I am hoping to get the BHA Breeders list put on here, but wanted a seperate one for those who aren't on it. Due to the MSN Rules which state that you cant advertise anything for sale, it can only have the name of your hamstery, and where you are, what you breed, and colours on it, but at least you will have something to show. What do people think of this? If you want me to do that, I will set one up when I get your answers. I can set up a seperate one for the UK and one for the USA. Can you give me your ideas attached to this message, thanks, John. Update 27th January 2004 - I have now placed a Breeders/Rescuers list in the information section. If anybody wishes to post there, with breeders or rescuers, they are welcome too. Its for both the UK and USA. Thanks, John.

About You. In the about you section, you will notice that the format has been changed, this is to get the list into alphabetical order. In doing this, bits of information look as if they have been lost. Don't panick, the information is still there, but because it cant fit on that page its now hidden. To look at the extra bits of information, each person has a little icon that looks like a magifying glass nest to them. If you click on the icon, you will be taken to the information you want to see. John. Update - 27th January, 2004. Just thought I would mention that the 'About You' list has now been sorted and all the information is now in view, and sorted into alphabetical order. Much better. John
