Different breeds of Hamsters.

Syrians

Syrian Hamsters are solitary hamsters and should never be kept in a cage with another hamster after the age of about 6 weeks.

DWARFS

Winter White Hamsters

These hamsters are social animals, and best kept in pairs. Sometimes fighting may occur and seperation is needed.

Campbell's

Page 3

Campell's are sociable animals, and enjoy the company of other hamsters. They will live quite happily in pairs, but fighting can occur, and they may need to be seperated.

Roborovski's

Roborovski's are the smallest of the hamsters that we have as pet's, and the fastest. They are not pet's that are very easilly handleable. You can train them, but it takes a long time. They are more for just watching. They are also colony animals and can be kept in groups. Care still must be taken in case fighting occurs.

Rat-Like Hamsters.

Chinese

Probably one of the most difficult hamster to keep in pairs and breed in captivity. These are my favorite hamster. They can be kept in pairs, but they can also be extremely agressive towards one another, and may have to be seperated.
