                                          Quick escape

                                               by Ben

Every Saturday afternoon I clean my hamsters' cages. This was when I only had one hamster and I didn't know much about hamsters. When I bought her they gave me those little boxes. When I clean her cage I put her in there. (I DID) I had the hose filling up the bucket and I went to get the cage. I put Clover in her box and took the cage into the yard. I pulled it apart and emptied the shavings. Then I dumped the cage in the water. This took me say 3 minutes. I went back into my bedroom to check on Clover and I was shocked to find that she had chewed through the box. My door was open and I shut it on my way out. I got the other pets out of the house and shut all the doors. I was panicing. I tore apart my room looking for the hammy. In a short time I found her crawling accross my desk where the box had been. She was saying, "Look at me, I'm free!"

THE MORAL: Never under estimate the power of your hammy!
