What do you think?

This is good. And in addition to haulting some benzene exposure, you are most probably lessing the additives such as MTBE or ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.

Benzene will cause apastic anemia AND leukemias. 2-butoxyethanol is much worse and in very widespread use. You need to work on limiting the emissions of that chemical which EPA lifted in about 2003 due to pressure from the chemical companies.

I suspect this chemical exposure to harm many on airlines and cruise ships. Even Anna Nicole Smith who had FLU symptoms and a fever. If they don't find the 'poisoning' of 2-butoxyethanol ... that 'looks like flu' in life ... (& they do not) What makes them think an autopsy will show up anything?

2-butoxyethanol should be suspect for the cause of CFIDS and 'gulf war syndrome' and many people of all ages are at risk for its harm: especially the military this past century in ALL wars

Civilians would call Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) http://www.valdezlink.com/cfid_share.htm

Question:

"2-butoxyethanol should be suspect for the cause of CFIDS and 'gulf war syndrome' and many people of all ages are at risk for its harm: especially the military this past century in ALL wars"

I'm confused. Is this additive used in JP-8 fuel because that's what most military vehicles operate on here in Iraq. Diesel is the second choice. As the fuel comes from Kuwaiti refineries (Saudi in Gulf I), is this additive common in this part of the world? In addition, weren't most of the Gulf 1 soldiers exposed to oil well fires. Was this an additive in raw oil?

I thought it was spent uranium shells that were the cause. I also thought it was the shots the soldiers took. I also thought it was the destruction of CWs in Gulf 1 during bombings of stockpiles. So you have me confused.

There are many sources of 2-butoxyethanol exposure. In the gulf war I suspect it is in gun cleaners, in jet fuel, in paint (they painted all the equipment as it arrived, tanks, etc and which way did the wind blow?) They blow up piles of explosives, and it must be there. I know that Jet fuels 2,3,4,5,6 must have it because they are labeled as 'pesticides' and this chemical is by some odd definition a 'pesticide' a teratogen and a neurotoxin and a poison. It should be suspect in many cleaning products both at home and the military. Simple Green is 6% concentration. Not safe as they claim. The housewife is the most unprotected class ... as companies do not have to disclose ingredients to housewives (Only to a company with two or more employees)

Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether (2-butoxyethanol) is THE autoimmune causing chemical http://groups.msn.com/newmoms/autoimmunity.msnw

JP-4 etc http://www.valdezlink.com/jp4.htm

Why I looked into this chemical AND what turned my attention to the 'gulf war sydrome'vets:
http://groups.msn.com/Avoid2-BEforHealth-MM/divineappointment.msnw

And why I believe the harm is more this chemical than anything else for the WWII vet, the Vietnam vet, the Korean Vet, and today's vet. I have talked to many, many of them, and there is a common pattern of harm
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/helpfor-GWI-CFIDS/message/78

What we call THE FLU is really 2-butoxyethanol poisoning which makes one's body autoimmune. The virus, the bacteria are 'unchecked' It is the immune system that is killing you, whether in one day (with too much exposure, or 10 years later)

Notice that 2-butoxyethanol AND diethylene glycol monobutyl ether are on the list of solvents and pesticides the gulf war troops were exposed to

Vapors in eyes is one of the worst exposures ... take along air tight goggles in any work you do that might encounter it ... on airplane rides, too  HELP:  Good nutrition

That is why I believe that when its harm is truly recognized, Congress will ban it; but at the very least not limiting emissions in the AIR is a serious issue.  I also think that since it is a complex alcohol, a breathalyzer could not only detect regular alcohol consumption, but could also detect this one, and when that person should wear a charcoal filter before boarding a plane or cruise ship, or military medivac.  These precautions and wearing air-tight goggles may become just as important as wearing medic gloves when working with strangers who are ill

_______________ Some thoughts I shared with Dr. Goldman - GWVets no more harmed than the general population is what you hear ... and I agree with that http://www.valdezlink.com/gwv<WBR>/interesteddrg.htm

Do you have any Corexit in the Arms Room?  One soldier thought that was possible

I just wanted to point out this chemical's harm which is in the background but not noticed for more than a century. (stronger versions of something back to mid 14th century when methods of warfare changed to canons, explosives, etc)

You can get a little exposure here 'n there and not be affected too much, but add it all together: Too much exposure is a serious matter.  Learn to listen to your body 'complain'  Especially farting, diarrhea, headache, sniffles and cold symptoms.

I'm hoping someone of influence will take note

... AND AVOID 2-butoxyethanol (everyone should be aware of it), but it is not disclosed in ingredients many times ... just warnings of how to use a product.

Why can't the USA find the real cause of 'gulf war syndrome?'  http://www.valdezlink.com/usa_hoodwinked.htm
