Ever since he came in, the coaches highlighted his quality. He has been in constant evolution since he joined the lower teams. In season 95/96 he jumped into the first team under Jorge Valdano¡¯s leadership. He has proved that he has a place in the team during the six seasons he has been playing in the first squad. Besides, his constant progression have led him to the National Team on several occasions. National team After winning the 1998 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Spain, Guti made his full debut on 5 May 1999 against Croatia. He missed the 2002 FIFA World Cup due to an ankle injury and did not make the final squad for UEFA EURO 2004?. Was recalled for the 2006 World Cup qualifier against San Marino and celebrated with Spain's fourth goal in the 5-0 win, but has been unable to win a regular role. Club The Madrid-born Guti made his senior debut against Sevilla FC in 1995. In 1996/97 he played 14 league games as Madrid won the title, and the following term he made his UEFA Champions League bow as part of the squad that claimed the trophy.
