He'll womanize his way across the screen, making friends with King Charles II (John Malkovich), falling in love with actress Elizabeth Barry (Samantha Morton), and then dying at age 33.

Tuesday 24th February 2004: The Libertine Update:
Interior filming of The Libertine will be moved to Ramsay, Isle of Man after the producers managed to strike a deal with the Isle of man authorities that saved their budget. They will start filming there on 3rd March.

Monday 23rd February 2004: The Libertine Update:
The start of filming on The Libertine has had to be pushed back until 29th February. It looks like the producers managed to secure the financing that was lost after the recent UK tax law changes.

Thursday 12th February 2004: The Libertine Update:
The production of the Johnny Depp starring The Libertine looks to have been hit hard by the recent UK tax legislation changes , that have been designed to stop people avoiding paying tax. It is thought that filming on The Libertine will have to stop within the next week and move oversees. Russ Smith who is producing The Libertine had this to say "Britain will become a no-go area for film makers for years to come after this."

• Filming is due to start on 23rd February on a Budget of $17M and it is going to be filmed in the UK, England Capital (no not 'E') London!!!
• The Libertine start date has been pushed back until February 29th, due to UK Law Changes!

• Johnny has been getting swamped by fans on the set of The Libertine at The Ocean Nightclub. Security had to forcibly remove two overkeen fans who had even broken in to the make up trailer!
