Forms of Sex Magick

1. Monofocal- Focus on one. This is sex done usually solo, but can also be done with a partner as the are focusing on you, or vice versa. Quite good if you are single, or if your partner isn't available at the time. Some people are more comfortable practicing monofocal sex magick rather then duo or poly because when you masturbate, you know your own bounds, what feels good, what raises energy better, and there isn't that worry that you are doing something wrong for the other person...or the worry that the other person may think that you are strange for wanting them to participate in sex magick with you. In this day and age, we see more relationships and families that practice different religions within the family. The husband may be pagan while the wife may be a loose Christian (I say loose because the more strict Christians, especially Catholics, won't stay with a Pagan. Now I am not saying that all Christians or Catholics are like this, but there are those out there, of any religion, who won't marry or be with anyone (for a long relationship, maybe a short trial run) who is of opposite faiths. That is the way that life is.) She may not feel completely comfortable with the idea of magick being brought into their sex life, so he does his rituals alone.

Monofocal Sex Magick is good for divinatory purposes. Monofocal can be done with symbology in mind. If you are assisted by another and are monofocal for divinatory puproses, this is called ECL, or eroto-comatos lucidity.

2. Duofocal- Focus on two. This is performed with two partners. Love is important for this focus, but don't get this confused with the romantic kind of love. The best form of love for this is deep love. And understanding love. The type of love you aquire when you have lived with some one for a while, or even the type of love you feel with a freind.

3. Polyfocal- Focus on many, a group with one, a leader to guide the energy to serve a purpose. But, Like I said in the introduction, this form of sex magick is not meant to be used as an orgy. It is sex with multiple partners at one time for the purpose of raising energies and being guided by a leader. The guide's purpose is to organize and direct the energies.

Preparing for Sex Magick

One Person

1. Decide why you are raising the energy. Your goal is the most important asspect. Although the feelings will be intense, never loose sight of the goal. Decide what symbol you are going to be concentrating on, what spell you are performing, if you are using a chant or mantra (yes, even "oh my Goddess" is fine, it may not have anything to do with the spell, but if that is what you find to be the easiest to concentrate on, use it.)

2. Bathe in salt water. This helps to purify the body. If you need to purify or cleanse your mind and soul, light some candles and incense when you are in the tub.

3. Gather the appropriate tools. Figure out what colors your candles will be, your incense, stones, etc.

4. It is most important that you will not be disturbed AT ALL throughout your ritual working. Make sure the phone is off the hook, the doors are locked, and if you live with someone else, make sure that they will be gone. You don't need someone coming into your space and interupting you. Not to mention that, for the more modest folk, this will be more then a little embarrasing if someone walks in with your legs wide open or your hand on your staff.

5. Begin by anointing eachother with oil(s).

6. Start and maintain eye contact.

7. Start with rhythmic breathing.

8. Then begin rhythmic movement.

Ways for two people to Raise Energy

1. Eye contact is the most important key. It helps you to focus, to let go of your inhibitions and egos, to give your strength and power. The key to freedom is being able to lose control. However, some people feel uncomfortable making eye contact. For this, and this alone I will say, get over it. If you feel uncomfortable, practice making eye contact with your partner in your everyday life, before you ever practice sex magick.

2. syncronized breathing, stroking and movement help to create a hypnotic state.

3. visualization helps to bring forth a goal. The easiest for me is to set a candle to the left or right of us and then to watch the flame patterns on my lovers face. Also, a mirror above the bed or to the side is also good. After you get the physical visualization, then move to the mental. Visualize your energy being built up to your goal and then, on release of energy, visualize your mutual built energy flowing towards that goal.

4. syncronized chanting. I personally don't like to chant. It takes my concentration away from the goal and turns it to trying to remember what I am saying.
