Introduction

Sex magick is a very powerful form of magick. However, it can be misunderstood and misuzed. People tend to mis-interpret sex magick on an equal basis as porn, when in fact, it isn't. It is the wonderous act between two people, or solo, in a group, or even symbolicaly. Society today looks at sex as if it were something dirty (although it can be if that is your forte) rather then something that can be beneficial. You have sex with one person behind closed doors, it's secret and no one knows about it.

Okay. In reality, our society has become more liberal when it comes to sex. Homosexuality, parents, young adults, and teens having sex, that has all just recently come into the media spotlight as an "alright" thing. Of course, there are still people out there who are pious and down right dull when it comes to sex. You hear a lot of the same old thing."You will burn in hell for this sin." or "you are such a slut." Same old tired phrases.

Whatever. Sexuality is a good thing, not a bad thing. However, don't go out and have sex with every person you meet. That isn't right. The thing to remember first and foremost is safety. Yes, use condoms! I can't express this enough. I have seen too many young pregnant people around lately and it saddens me. Also, STD's are real. Even though a good many authors on sex magick emphasize the importance of mingling bodily fluids, magick goes beyond matter. On the astral plain/level, fluids mingle anyway, condom or no condom. So, use a condom on this plain.

Anyway, enough about that. Onward....

What is Sex Magick?

Sex magick is basically just that. Using sex to work magick. Many different religions use(d) this form of magick. It wasn't an every day/night occurance. It was used for special rituals throughout the year. In paganism, it was used in rituals to symbolize the mating of the Goddess and the God. Beltane is one of the biggest feasts/celebrations/sabbats for this type of magick. So, in essence to the pagan religion, sexuality is a gift from the Goddess and the God, so it must be divine.

Within a respectful, and open, relationship, we can experience ourselves in all three aspects: the primative (base, animalistic feelings), the cival (middle, humanistic feelings), and the divine (higher, more spiritual feelings).

During arousal (both sexual and emotional) energy can be channeled through the chakra systems, starting at the genitals and moving up out of the top of the head. It is built through your body, but begins with the genitals. Thus, when you send out this energy for your aims, you are sending out very strong and pent-up energy.

What are the benifits of Sex Magick?

Sex magick is one of the most pleasurable forms of magick, plus you don't have to have much knowledge of ceremonial magick to do it, either. Just about anyone can perform sex magick, if they have the inclination to use their sexual energy for magickal workings. Plus it is also a good thing if you are able to move around quite a bit, and are sexually fit. (meaning basically that you aren't incapasitated in anyway.) Also, something that I would like to add here: Do practice sex magick if you are under the influence of alcohol. It really is pointless since the mind and the soul (plus the body, most often then not) are quite incapable of control.

Don't forget the cardinal rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you aren't comfortable with something, don't force it on another. And Vice Versa. Don't let anyone make you do something that you don't want to do. Sex magick is not neccesary for life or magick. It is just another form.

Sex types for Magick

Any type of sex can be used in sex magick. It can be done alond, with a partner (hetero or homo), and when you become more advanced in the form of sex magick, you can even practice it in a group. However, never use group sex magick as an excuse to have an orgy. That isn't what it is about. Group sex magick is purely for the purpose that the group is using their combined sexual energies for a mutual goal.

Sex magick can be performed in any way that you can think of. Your creativity is your limit.

Differences

In purely having sex, one tends to focus on the physical and emotional aspects that one recieves from their partner (or from themselves.) However, in sex magick rituals, one tends to focus on the actual ritual, although sex magick is pleasurable, it does feel different. It is more intense and here's why.

1. When you are working sex magick, the goal is NOT to orgasm. You will eventually, but you want to build up your energy first. You can do this with practice. When you feel that you are about to ejaculate, stop, take a few deep breaths. This gives you the feeling of the orgasm without actually going over the edge. That is why, if you hear some men say that not only women can have multiple orgasms, it is true. A good book to read is "Extended Massive Orgasm" By: Steve and Vera Bodansky. This is a good book because it teaches you how to bring both yourself, and your lover, to peak without spilling over, so to speak. You can also use these tecniques when you are not performing magick.

2.With the above in mind, we move on. When you are building energy like this, you are sending it out through your chakra system. Imagine, if you will, that you are pushing the energy up the middle of your body. The first layer stops at the top of your head, then the next layer stops at the base of your neck, so on and so forth. By the time you are ready to orgasm, it will finally have reached to your genitals, the last layer. Your orgasm fires, if you will imagine, this pent up energy out through the top of your head and out toward your objective. The feelings are more emotional, physical and soul encompassing. Most often then not, either you or your partner, or both, will begin to either tear or cry. It is an emotional overload and it does tend to happen. If you aren't the one who is crying, hold your partner until the tears pass. After all, wouldn't you want it that way if it were you. However, some people don't like to be held when crying. If this is so, remain respectful to their wishes, but let them know that you are there for them.
