From the Palace Royale in the centre of Spa in Belgium, the 2000km route will start by travelling south through many of the most demanding roads through the hills, valleys and forests of Germany. Following an overnight stop in Germany, the route continues south and rises into the mountains of Austria. The formidable 20km climb to the Grossglockner pass at 7965 feet is just one of the many high altitude passes on the Targa-Liege route. The amazing mountain roads of the Alps and Dolomites, with their spectacular views, can always be relied upon as a challenge. With overnight stops, including Cortina d’ Ampezzo, the route continues down through Northern Italy and over the Passo Della Futa and Raticosa, legendary on the Mille Miglia. The Targa-Liege route from Spa to Florence will indeed be a memorable one.
