Embryo is a boneless lump. It cartilage tissue is transformed into bones in due time as stated in the Quran which is followed by their being clothed by muscular flesh. The Arabic word lahm means the muscular flesh. This process was unknown 1400 years ago. It was believed that the bones and muscles had developed simultaneously. Developed microscope and the microcameras introduced in uterus corroborated once again the truth expressed in the Quran.
PERFECT STRUCTURE OF THE SKELETON
The verse quoted from the sura the Cow draws our attention to the skeleton and invites us to examine it closely. While reading this verse, we will try to meditate upon the miraculous formations within our body. Our skeleton, a marvel of engineering, is formed of 206 bones of varying sizes. It is a tower made of bones connected with each other by joints and ligaments enabling us to jump, run, bend, sit, etc. In none of our daily movements do we have to exert ourselves thanks to the excellent design. To turn a page of a book necessitates the concurrent action of our shoulder, elbow, wrists and fingers, without our being aware of the fact that it is the skeleton that performs this act.
Whether it is an engineer or a medical specialist that observes this magnificent edifice, he will realize how insufficient is our knowledge of it. The skeletal system is made of structures composed of bones or cartilage or a combination of both which provide a framework for the vertebrate body and serve as attachment for muscles. Every part of this system independently performs the duty it has been charged with. Where the movement is deemed to involve danger, the joints are fixed like in the crane and pelvis, while in the hips or shoulders they are mobile. Cervical vertebrae permit the head to revolve around its axis up to 180 degrees. Thus, we do not have to turn our body to look around. Lungs and the heart are protected by ribs to ensure their proper and safe functioning without being exposed to any hazard. The skeletal system supports the body like the columns and beams of a building. However, it is to be wondered at the fact that while in modern buildings the frame forms 60-70% of the building’s weight, the human skeleton forms but 15% of the body weight. The structural frame is highly resistant. For instance the thighbone (the femur) in vertical position can carry a weight of one ton. Solidity and elasticity coexist.
Our skeleton has a lubricating system, the details of which the present book can hardly contain. Every joint in our body is regularly lubricated with special oily substances. Solid cartilage prevents the vertebrae from eroding. Verse 259 of the Sura The Cow “Look further at the bones” directs our attention to these data forming but a small portion of man’s marvelous make up. Our muscular constitution will follow this process as stated in the Quran.

How marvelous it is to think that a day will come when a mixture called semen will be able to hear, see, laugh, weep, think and understand in order that an artistic work may be created by him endowed with esthetic feelings. What a great gift for a man!
While the Quran says that there will be a day when a drop of a mixture will be able to hear and see, it implies the fact that seeing is to succeed to it. In many verses we frequently come across ‘hearing and seeing’. On the 23rd day of pregnancy the development of the ear is completed while the retina is still undeveloped even on the 25th day. The fact that the verse mentions the hearing first and the organ of vision afterward is an allusion to this fact.

Fingerprints did not mean much to the people at the Prophet’s time. An English man by the name of Genn Ginsen, in 1856, found out that the pattern of lines at the tip of a person’s finger was something belonging to the individual. Until 1856, men knew nothing about this characteristic of fingertips. The discovery of the fact, that the pattern of lines on fingertips was a sort of identity card, was often used by the police to help find criminals. The pattern lines of the fingertips differ even in identical twins. This identity card cannot be forged; it affixes their signature on whatever it touches. One cannot imitate or deny it. We carry it about us till the end of our days. Epidermal burns or injuries or aging distort our body in one way or another and yet cannot change this fact. Designing billions of patterns within a space of 2cm which forms the indelible mark shows the incredible genius, beyond our human comprehension of our Creator.
These patterns of lines are traced within the womb when the fetus completes its three months’ period. Researches are going on today to see whether these lines may be used to detect the genetic defects in our body. To the best of our knowledge so far nothing positive has been discovered on this issue. It is however likely that something new may come up every instant.
At the time of the descent of the Quran fingertips had nothing special about them. God, Who will cause man to come back to life on the Day of Judgement, stresses the importance of fingertips.
DATA CONCEALED ON FINGERTIPS
One of the basic indications of this verse may refer to the patterns of lines on man’s fingertips. There may be other indications, according to which all the characteristics of our body are encoded on our fingertips. It could be implied that during our re-creation all the particularities and features of our body will be restored, so that it may be that what lies on our fingertips, apparently of little significance, will be sufficient for this process. The reason why fingertips are given as example is the general acceptance of it as a simple thing of not much worth. Nevertheless, even the tip of a finger that appears insignificant is a data bank, thanks to which the entire body may be re-fashioned. DNA is one of the most important discoveries in human history. The discovery of the DNA put an end to the conception according to which the human cell had a simple structure with its contents, viz. A fluid contained within a membrane. As man’s scientific curiosity went further, the fact that the creation of human was the consequence of a simple process came to light. But, as the cell came to be analyzed more and more, the complexity of its make up was better understood.
Even one DNA includes a cypher formed of a series of three billion codes. From the color of our hair to our little finger everything is contained in this code. A printout of data related to DNA would form the contents of about 1000 volumes of one million pages. What is more DNA has the capacity to record all these data within 20 to 80 minutes. In the lore contained in the 1000 volumes of one single DNA, one can find all the characteristics of our body. The DNA of a simple cell on fingertip will give one all the necessary information. Our Creator can easily have recourse to this lore to re-create man. It will be as easy for him to do so as if he were creating him for the first time.

The analysis of the cell was made thanks to the development of the microscope. The more an analysis is thorough and successful, the better the human body is understood. Be it from the male or from the female, each DNA contains the genetic code of male and female at the same time. Classification of this may shed light on the creation of Eve from the data that Adam’s body contained and on the creation of Jesus from the data contained in Virgin Mary’s body.
The Old and the New Testaments and the Quran claim that all human beings are the outcome of a male and a female. Researches carried on cells seem to justify this thesis of the holy books.
Energy is generated in the power stations of minute cytoplasmic organelles in the form of spherical granules, short rods or long filaments found in almost all living cells. These mitochondria as they are called, have DNA, different than the DNA we spoke above. All men of differing races, sizes, living in different continents, have their own mitochondria, and mitochondria DNA in their mitochondria. The difference in these molecules is the capacity of their transmission to the offspring of the mother. The analysis of the mitochondria DNA of human beings from different races and characteristics, showed that all these people were the offspring of one single female.
This research result proves the thesis of the Quran that asserts that we come from a single pair (from one single female). This furthermore corroborates the assertion on this issue of the Old and the New Testaments. The racial discrimination becomes thus absurd since all human beings are brothers and sisters. This discovery of micro-world of cell unites the ideas propounded by religions and science arguing the fraternity of the entire humanity.
13-O people! We created you from a male and female, and formed you into nations and tribes that you may recognize eachother. Verily the most honered of you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is knowing, Cognizant.
