Its was Saturday morning 5.30am

In Prospect Park nobody was there then

No passers by, no man with his dog

Just two girls alone in the fog

Suddenly there was a passer by, the girl leapt up and gave a cry.

She looked at her friend who lay there dead

The girl needed help she had wounds to her head

The passer by ran over to help when she saw Mary Ann she gave a yelp

We don’t know who did this, but her life has been taken

We just hope now her soul may rest in heaven
