MSTS Narrow Gauge Locomotives
This page is to list is Locomotives that have been created for MSTS:
K-36
The K-36 is the workhorse for the D&GRW narrow gauge. Ten where built during 1925 for use on the Marshall Pass line. Soon after upgrading the track the K-36 class could be found over most of the D&RGW lines. The K-36 class has a boiler pressure of 195 psi, 32,200 lbs of tractive effort, and weights 187,000 pounds. Today nine of the ten locomotives exists and operate today on the Cumbres & Toltec and the Durango & Silverton, the 485 was the only one that got scraped.
The version made for MSTS, is a standard gauge version, made by Julian D. Abram (a.k.a. Fozzy). The model was built with the wheel sets re-gauged to run on standard MSTS Track, this is the only change made and the remainder of the model is exactly to size. The road numbers available are 487 and 483.

Future Versions: The readme says a true narrow gauge is in the works, which would run on the 3’ X Tracks.
Comments: Even though it is standard gauge, it is a fine model to have and a must for any narrow gauge enthusiast.
Sumpter Valley 2-6-6-2 Mallet
The Sumpter Valley had 2 of the 2-6-6-2 mallets, numbers 250 & 251. They bought them from the Uintah and were oringally 2-6-6-2t. The Sumpter Valley added the tender and converted them to burn oil when they bought them in 1938. They served on the Sumpter Valley until 1947 when it was sold to a railroad in Guatemala and later scrapped.
The MSTS version is very well done. It is made by Jon Davis with sounds done by Steve Thompson. The units are in three parts that come together to create a very nice locomotive. The smoke is a very nice salt and peper mix and looks excellent.
