References to Mythology

Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi: With his Mangekyou Sharingan, Itachi can do two very powerful jutsu. One is Tsukiyomi, an unbreakable genjutsu, and the other is Amaterasu, a fire that burns for 7 days. These two jutsu take their names from two Japanese gods. Amaterasu is the goddess of the sun, and Tsukiyomi is the god of the moon. These two gods were created when another god, Izanagi, washed his eyes.
