Young Lifesaver Plus Award!

The course provides advanced training in First Aid for young people. Neath have been the first to take part in the award in the whole of No.3 Welsh Wing! The Squadron even recieved a visit from Squadron Leader Clarke from Headquarters Air Cadets, who presented the cadets with their certificates.

The cadets had to learn first aid skills to gain the qualifcation. The course consisted of:

Allergic Reaction (Anaphylactic Shock)                    Bleeding

Breathing Problems                                                  Cramp

Diabetes                                                                 Dislocation

Epilepsy                                                                   Everyday mishaps

Extremes of temperature                                          Fractures

  Head injuries                                                          Keeping safe

Sprains                                                                   Strains

The course lasted about 8 hours and the final assessment was made up of a multiple choice question paper and practical exercise by a St. John registered assessor

After successful completion the cadets gained a St. John Ambulance certificate, which is valid for three years.
