THE HISTORY OF THE NAME NORZAGARAY
The name Norzagaray was derived from the name of Gen. Fernando de Norzagaray y Escudero During the Spanish occupation , the people of the barrio "casay" worked for reforms- politically , socially , and economically in order to be seperated from Angat. They succedded in their attempts so that the Spanish government , through their Honorable Governer General issued a declaration proclaming barrio "casay" as a distinct town seperated from Angat. Pre- Spanish records revealed that once , the town of NORZAGARAY was a remote wilderness. It was then called "Casay" , a barrio of the town of Angat.
