In Valdez, Alaska since the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup, doctors have seen a lot of high blood sugar leading to kidney failure.  My doctor said that they didn't understand why there was such a complication from 'diabetes'  (I would call it endocrine disruption from 2-butoxyethanol exposure).  I suspect they are dealing with an effect from a chemical which also targets the kidneys and liver. (Autoimmune liver).  Still haven't heard that the underlying fatigue is being found, though, not unlike the rest of the nation these past 70 years Consider:   Diabetes may be from a chemical exposure? What about high blood sugar (or low)?  Maybe diabetes type 2 is part of what this chemical causes, as a late appearing 'birth defect' OR with sudden onset after flu-like symptoms - after one's own direct exposure to 2-butoxyethanol.  Maybe that is why overweight and Syndrome X (metabolic problems, too?) and kidney failures eventually ... are part of what a chemical exposure does?  Maybe we are dealing with a chemical which is targeting the kidneys directly?  *   That causes many autoimmune problems?
