If you want to come to Mexico, you need to know about a few important things...

Money

The money you will use is the Mexican Peso. The best place to exchange money for pesos is at the airport, where you will find a "Casa de Cambio." Also, it is very easy to withdrawl pesos from ATM´s that you can find around the city. We find that banks give a good exchange rate, but will often charge a small fee for withdrawing from a foreign ATM.

 

Health

Only drink purified water. Drinking water from the tap is very risky. You can easily find purified, bottled water at any convience store. Food at established restaurants is typically safe, but eating at shacks (like you will find near metro stations) can be hazardous to you health.

 

Safety

Always be aware of your bags, backpacks, suitcases, etc., especially in the larger cities. If you travel in the Metro, take extra care with wallets and purses. And remember, we will provide all of your transportation needs once you arrive in the airport.
