| The Artists PIGGIN Piggin was started in 1993 by the artist David Corbridge. He lives in County Durham and is a talented wildlife artist. He says it all started with a pig called Tuesday. (a large white pig) After sketching the pigs one cold October day, he had a very sleepy picture of "Tuesday". A friend of David's "Bill Dodd", (and chairman of collectible world) was looking for a new range of figurines on which they could work on together, they came up with the idea of the pigs antics, Tuesday had been drawn asleep with his head through a tyre - PIGGIN Tired" was the first figurine made in 1993 . POCKET DRAGONS The first pocket dragon to be sculptured was in 1989 by the artist Real Musgrave. Real began to draw dragons when he was five years old and in 1974 he started a small gallery/commercial art studio where he sold his fantasy drawings. In the 10 years since he has had success with drawings, an animated TV series and many wonderful sculptures. Real is helped along by his wife Muff, and says his dragons are modeled on his old pet dog "Flower" and his cat "Telemann" there is even one modeled on Muff "Flannel nightie" . Hope this gives you all a little insight into the people behind these lovable characters and you enjoy collecting these pieces as much as we do. |
