Taking an idea from Arrow Guy, I have decided to start my own blog, too, mostly because I'm bored. Unlike Arrow Guy, my blog probably won't center much around pokemon, unless I catch a really cool pokemon on my game, or I finally get the DS I want. My blog will mostly concentrate on my life, probably specifically on what's happening with my writings and them being sent in. I know you're all beyond excited, so I'll get on with it. | 3/28/08 | Well, I got one of my stories back, sort of. Not so much from the publishing company as from the post office. Three months. It took them three months to send me back my letter with a little Return to Sender sticker on it, saying that there wasn't an address as the one I wrote on the letter. I was a little peeved, but I suppose I just won't be sending anymore stories to that publisher for a while, at least until I find their new address. That song has a new meaning for me now, though. I finally understand how Elvis felt. Return to Sender... | | 2/07/08 | Well, I still haven't received a reply back for my query letter, which is a little disappointing. Either they're not interesting and simply don't feel the need to let me know why they aren't, or it's taking far longer for them to decide. At any rate, it's mildly disappointing. However, my disappointment is balanced by the fact that Arrow and I are writing a book together! It's going to be amazing, and it's coming along really well, so I am pleased thoroughly! On another note, school blows and work sucks, so have a nice day. ~ Catastrophe | | 1/25/08 | So, near the beginnging of December, I sent out a short story to a publisher, as well as a query letter to another publishing magazine. The short story's waiting period ends around the beginning of April, so I have a ways to go, but the waiting time for the response to my query letter ended about a week ago... so I'm expecting a letter any day, and literally going nuts without it. It's pretty sad when you want to get home to visit the mailbox, instead of the comfy couch awaiting you. I'm thinking about sending out a few more stories. I suppose I ought to, instead of waiting around for a reply that might never come. The short story I sent out is called How Far Away Is Hell Tonight? and I've mentioned it on this site before. The query I sent out is about one of my more recent horror shorts, Death's Hand, but I still have a few others that I could send out. Oddly enough, all of my short stories end up being horror or dark, but every novel I've ever come up with is always fantasy-based. Even the horror novel I started weaved it's way into a fantasy-theme. Strange... ~ Catastrophe |
