Thank you for your interest in joining PRC. We are a very informal group, and our purpose is simply to get to enjoy boating together, and help each other along the way. To that end, we require very little from our members. Only that you participate in at least one club activity each year, and provide us with some basic information so we can contact you (and you us). If you don't own a boat now, but are still interested in joining, we hold several events each year that landlubbers can attend, and often welcome friends, old and new, to come along for rides. But the first step is to sign up and participate so we can get to know you.
How to join
When you click the "Join Now" link on the left side of the page, you MUST provide a working email address so we can contact you. We will respond with an email asking for some general info about yourself and your boat (our membership application).
When you reply to that request, your membership will be granted. There are no dues, and all we ask is that you participate and have fun! That's what we are all about. Please rest assured we will not give out your email address to any kind of advertisers.
Why join?
New boaters and old salts alike are welcome to join, participate, exchange information and learn from each other about boating. We have members with different experience levels of boating and all sizes of boats from 19 to 50 feet. Most of all, the point is to have fun!
What we do
We get together on the Potomac River nearly every weekend of the boating season for raft-ups. At any one of our raft-ups you will find great food, conversation, drink, swimming, sunning, skiing, new friends and great relaxation.
The rest of the year we stay in touch via this board and a few social activities. Past years have included Christmas parties, pot lucks, trips to boat shows, boat parades, raft-ups and even a week-long cruise to the Chesapeake Bay.
We love power boating and everything that goes with it, especially the friends we meet along the way.
Although we are predominantly a gay group, we welcome anyone with a genuine interest in boating.
If you have trouble with the joining link, or have more questions, try sending an email.
P.S. When we are on the river, we monitor VHF Channel 69. Feel free to hail "PRC" if you are on the water and having trouble finding us.
