What is Direct Linking?
Direct linking is when you look in someone's source code to find the url of an image or something and link it back to your site. For example, I found an image I like at ForFree.com (I have no clue if this is a real url), but they disabled right-clicking and didn't give out the code. I really want the image, so I decide to look in the source code, and find the image url: http://www.forfree.com/cool_image.gif (not a real url). I take that url and link to it from my site. THAT is direct linking. If you wanted to find the url so you could save the image and then upload it later, that's okay because you're sucking up your own bandwidth.
Bandwidth is a space on a website basically, and those who link outside the site suck up your bandwidth. If a lot of users do that, the site may even crash down. Bandwidth is something webowners pay for, and I know it's expensive. So imagine if you own a domain, and find lots of people direct linking, sucking up the expensive space you PAY for. I wouldn't like it either.
Don't understand? I can simplify it for you, beacaue i took pictures with my digital camera for an example and i'd like to thank Inuyasha's era for hosting my example, No worries Kayla i didn't really direct link^-^
Direct linking is: forexample your cruising the net, looking for pictures for your site,
and you come across a picture you like,
and you right click and click "copy"
then paste in on your own site by right clicking once again and clicking "paste"
the way a person knows when u direct link is if you right click and look at properties the site you got it from's (in this case Inuyahsa's era) will still be there
Reasons Why people Direct Link People direct link for 3 reasons:
1. They are ignorant(stupid) and do not know what direct linking is.
2. They don't care and do not know that it is ILLEGAL.
3. Its conveniet, easier, and cheaper to Direct Link.
~~How to Stop Direct Linking~~
To stop direct linking all you need to do is upload anything on your own server, picture, midis, Anime Music Videos, every thing most programs are free and are very simple to opperate. Please together we can stop this.
~~Why do We Want To Stop it~~
1. 
2. Bandwhich costs MONEY!
3. It's ot fair to those who actually PAY
4. Stealing is wrong, When did we learn that when we were 3?
Exaclty what it says Direct Linking is 100% ILLEGAL!
Its Stealing from other sites, their money, hard work, time, and graphics.
If you do see any direct linking on any site and it is any of the sites in this protest Email the manager of the site immediatly!
