The following schools have either iaido, iaijutsu or kenjutsu as part of their curriculum and have dojo located in Southern California. They are not affiliated with the SCIA, SCKF or AUSKF. Please contact them through their websites for more information. This is not a comprehensive list.

Aikido Center of Los Angeles

Aikido, Muso Shinden Ryu iaido and Toyama Ryu iaido headed by the students of Rev. Kensho Furuya (1948-2007). Main dojo is located in Downtown Los Angeles, California.

Jikishin-Kai International

Shito-Ryu karate, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu iaijutsu, kenjutsu and jojutsu, headed by Masayuki Shimabukuro shihan. Main dojo is located in San Diego, California.

Kashima-Shinryu, North America

Website of the Kashima-Shinryu, one of the oldest extant Japanese martial art systems being practiced today. Seki Humitake is the 19th shihan-ke of this school. Southern California branch is located at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The International Shinkendo Federation

Modern Japanese swordsmanship developed by Toshishiro Obata soke. Several branches are located within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo USA Shibu

The official website for the Suio Ryu study groups in the United States, as authorized by Yoshimitsu Kagehiro Katsuse, the 15th soke of this school.
