After the 62 sevens the anointed one will be cut off. This equates with the rapture experience outlined in 1 Thessalonians (4: 16 - 18) and Matthew (24:15). If the seven years and the 62 years are consecutive then the rapture will be in the final year before Christ returns.
Historians and theologians have done the same thing as sect and cult leaders, they have tried to work out the date of the coming of the Christ by looking at differing events and trying to make them fit the prophecies. But if the prophecies fulfilment was in 1967 then they really never had any hope of getting at least the start date of the second part of the prophecy.
