"Dialogues on Education"

We are happy to introduce a new radio news program which follows each Scholastic Games high school quiz program on WEOL radio (AM 930).  It premiered in January, 2007, and is hosted by award-winning journalist Bob Tayek.  

Broadcasts highlight education success stories from Lorain county, and the initiatives that bring them about.

LOOKING FOR GUESTS:  We would welcome any suggestions as to good people to interview and how to reach them.  If your school system or organization has a story to tell,  tell us whom to contact.  Our programs are produced mainly from telephone interviews which maximize timeliness and convenience for all involved.  Your assistance can be vital to our success.

OUR HOST AND PRODUCER:  Bob Tayek  began his career as an anchor/reporter/play-by-play announcer at WEOL in Elyria-Lorain. Since that time, he has amassed 30 years experience in broadcasting and public relations in Northeast Ohio.  Tayek has served as Managing Editor at WKYC TV3 and as Vice President of News at then WAKC TV23 in Akron.  He also worked as the Assignment Manager at WEWS TV5 in Cleveland.

             His radio experience includes Program and News Directorships at WWWE (now WTAM) radio in Cleveland, and news anchor positions at WERE, and WCLV in Cleveland.  Tayek is currently the Director of Media and Public Relations for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and also is the Public Address announcer for the Cleveland Indians major league baseball club at Jacobs Field.

        Tayek holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Akron and is recipient of the Society of Professional Journalists Distinguished Service Award.
