“Delightful Rain: A celebration of Australian surf music"
Clearly The Shadows had a huge influence on the music of Australia in the early 60s. In particular, local emerging surf bands like The Atlantics and The Denvermen gravitated more to the sound of The Shadows than they did to the music that rolled across the Pacific from California.
Exploring The Shadows influence on early Australian surf music (and the on-going thread) led to the development of “Delightful Rain: A celebration of Australian surf music”.

Just released in Australia as a limited edition 16 track CD and 50 minute DVD, "Delightful Rain" covers almost five decades of Australian surf music.
Recorded over two weeks in May this year, some of Australia's finest surf musicians gathered in a surf club on Sydney's north shore to record material old and new and to celebrate the journey of Australian surf music.
Artists featured included the legendary Atlantics and Les Green of The Denvermen, Richard Clapton, Tamam Shud, Rob Hirst and Martin Rotsey from Midnight Oil, Dom Turner, GANGgajang, Celibate Rifles, Peter Howe, Beau Young, Andrew Kidman and Dan Rumour of The Cruel Sea.
