WHO/WHAT IS PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS
TO OUR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS:
Parents Without Partners, Inc. is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian, educational organization which is devoted to the welfare and interest of single parents and their children. Incorporated in 1957, it now has over 350 chapters with a combined membership of approximately 49,600 members. Our chapter was formed in 1978 and has over 150 members. All activities within the chapter are conducted by member volunteers. This is neither a lonely hearts club nor a social club. It is an organization providing single parent education, recreation, social events, and activities geared to single parent family needs and single parent empty nesters.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP:
One must be a parent of one or more children and be single by reason of death, divorce, separation, or never having been married. A man or woman is eligible for membership regardless of the ages of their children and their custodial status.
DUES are $47.00 per year for membership. After an applicant's single status is verified, he or she will receive an official national membership card, our monthly newsletter, THE SANDPIPER. We appreciate the interest of each applicant and welcome the opportunity to enlighten each one about our organization, its purposes, programs, and activities.
WE ENCOURAGE all eligible persons to attend a new member orientation, which is mandatory before becoming a member and then attend a variety of functions; an educational meeting, a discussion, a dance or whatever seems to be the most appropriate at the given time. Why delay? Attend a new member orientation now, complete your application, and as soon as possible, begin to participate in all the fun, fellowship, and companionship that we have to offer.
