Dear Friends,
I am writing to request financial support for my figure skating. I am a 16 year old novice/junior level competitive figure skater. I currently skate for the All Year Figure Skating Club. My mom is a single parent and cannot keep up with the high demands of the costs involved with figure skating. She is doing the best she can but figure skating is very expensive and in order to continue with my goals we need some help. I am asking you whether or not you have a scholarship program to help me or are able to help donate funds to my skating cause. My goal this year is to get stronger and be able to land my double axel, triple salchow, triple flip and triple loop consistently. I am working to improve the difficulty of my spins and spirals as well as program components. I plan to pass my moves tests and improve my skating skills, power and flexibility. My long term goals are to become an elite figure skater. When my skating career is over I want to continue in the figure skating world by coaching, doing choreography and training athletes both off and on the ice. I have had much experience with helping in the Learn to Skate program at the rink as well as other programs. I would also like to one day help find a way to aid financially disadvantaged kids discover the joy of sports. I am homeschooled and in the 10th grade. Recently I started a charity group to support our soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. For more information on my group go to http://groups.myspace.com/myfreedomfighters .
Please let me know if there is any possibility of you or your company helping in my endeavor. For more information on sponsoring me you can check out my website at http://groups.msn.com/skatingsarah or send an email to sk8gold2010@aol.com .
Thank you so very much,
Sarah Kidd

| 1) What is the New England Amateur Skating Foundation? The New England Amateur Skating Foundation is a Tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of the New England Amateur Skating Foundation is to help competitive skaters by defraying some of their ever-increasing expenses. With many skaters in need of your support, the Foundation offers the opportunity of sponsorship to anyone who would like to help. 2) What percentage of your donation actually goes to the skater? One Hundred Percent. That's right! 100%! The NEASF charges no fees and there are no deductions of any kind. Volunteers pay all of the operating expenses of the Foundation. All donations are used to help the skaters. 3) How does the NEASF work? Donations are received from both individuals and corporations. The monies collected are then used to defray only skating-related expenses such as ice time, coaching fees, choreographers, and costumes, off ice training, equipment and travel. 4) How are the funds allocated? The NEASF Allocations Committee reviews its information about a skater and allocates funds accordingly. The information reviewed includes comments and recommendations of clubs, professionals and donors, as well as the experience and competitive level of the skater. 5) How does the skater receive money from the fund? The skater must submit their bill or bills signed by the skater as well as their skating professional (coach). If the skater is under 18 years of age, the bill(s) must be signed by a parent and skating professional (coach).
