  Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Direct URL to enter the club?

groups.msn.com/stampinandtagginplace

You can bookmark this link or add it to your favorites for easy access. We also suggest creating  a desktop shortcut. If you have Internet Explorer you may do this by opening the club via the direct link above. Then reduce the window by clicking on the - (dash) in the top right of the window. This will make the window smaller and you should then see your desktop behind it. Go up to the URL address on your browser and  click on the "e" in front of the address and continue to hold down the mouse button and drag it to a spot on your desktop. VOILA! You have just created a desktop shortcut.

CLUB PHILOSOPHY & POLICY  This club was founded on the belief that through sharing we all learn. If you are a member here, you are required to  actively participate  and communicate with all members. Participation guidelines can be found on the "Membership Guidelines" page.

Chats and classes are held in the chatroom.  To join the chatroom, simply click on the link that says CHAT on the blue bar at left. or use this link

How does the community protect the privacy of members?

Applications must be approved from all new members.  In order for applications to be considered, a first name is required as well as a valid e-mail and brief stamping history. If this information is not included on the initial application, the prospective member will be denied, and a form letter sent asking them to reapply with the required information.

The community wishes to respect our members' privacy, and therefore discourages members from posting any personal information, phone numbers or home addresses on the message boards or in the chatroom. It is advisable to send this information ONLY via e-mail.

The community's Photo albums are now located on a password protected site at www.picturetrail.com/stampintaggin

Passwords to the  Gallery will be given out only to members who show active participation.   To get the password, contact one of the managers. These passwords are subject to change at the discretion of the management team.  Notice will be given in the chatroom or at the club  meeting if this occurs. The password should never be given to non-members.  Occasionaly the password will be changed to keep it private.  When this occurs the new password will be sent to each member via a management email.

TO VIEW PHOTOS in the Picture Trail, you simply click on whichever album you wish to view.

TO ADD PHOTOS, you must sign in by clicking on the Picture trail icon at the top of the page. You will then see a menu at left. Click on MEMBER LOG IN , and then fill in the member id and password.  Please read the instructions for uploading photos in the "Documents" link for additional details.

All photos should be saved and uploaded in JPEG format, at no more than 75 web pixels. What is a RAK list and how do I get my name added to it?

RAK stands for Random Act of Kindness. An RAK list is a list of names of members who wish to send and receive cards, e-cards or other goodies. Items may be sent out to those having a birthday in that month, who may be ill, or celebrating any of life's milestones, or for no reason at all!

For info on how to join  the RAK list, please click HERE

How do I join a swap, or host my own?

Please refer to the SWAP GUIDELINES page at left that explains all about how swaps work, and your responsibilities as player or hostess.

Click HERE to go there now.

What about message boards?

The message boards provide a way for members to share information about stamping and other significant activities.  Members are encouraged to read, respond, and add messages regularly.

Inappropriate  messages may be removed from the message boards at any time at the discretion of the managers. Advertisements are not allowed on ANY MSN Groups site and will be removed. Please do not attempt to send a reply to messages via e-mail, or forward messages or e-mails to the message boards.

Please note that messages older than one month may be deleted to save space. It is advisable to print out those messages you need to refer back to.

SPAMMING (using member info to forward jokes, or junk mail) and FLAMING ( posting offensive or negative remarks)  geared toward a member, manager or her artwork, the club as a whole, or any other on-line rubber stamp club is simply not tolerated here! All offensive messages will be removed.

How do I invite my stamping friends to join the club?

Go to the "What's New" page at left and click on the link at the very top that says "Invite Others to Join". Simply type in their e-mail addresses and a brief message and send. Your friend will need to return the application, and include their full name, valid e-mail address, and brief stamping history in the COMMENTS SECTION of the application  for it to be considered.

I am having trouble accessing the club page and/or chatroom. Why?

There are many reasons that this could happen. The first and most common reason is because there are too many people on the internet and it is causing MSN's server to be busy.

A few other reasons may include:

-You are trying to access MSN applications using a Netscape browser. These are competitive companies, and don't always play nice together. Try entering the club using Internet Explorer as your browser.

-MSN has taken down the server for maintenance or upgrades. We all have to wait out this one. Usually a message will appear when trying to access MSN applications that will inform you of the status of maintenance updates.

-You have a non-alpha character in your club nickname. Non- alpha characters include ~, @, *, !, or any emoticons.   We ask that members not use these characters in their club nicknames at this site, because it causes potential trouble to the site itself and to other members who attempt to read messages posted by these "bad" nicknames. (It is a known glitch in MSN groups).

You are on a Macintosh computer or using Web TV.--Sorry, no cure for this one. The chat server is not compatible with these applications.

If after trying all theses options, you still experience problems, please contact MSN or your local ISP directly. The managers can only walk you through the above mentioned steps.

If you have any questions regarding the Stampin & Tagging Place Studio,  please contact the appropriate manager.
