The Issue Okay, so everyone has been listening to everyone else talk about the major problem that is happening this very moment. Global Warming! What's Happening... The temperture of the earth is rising, because of greenhouse gasses. Here is what's suppose to happen... 1. Sunlight (energy) from the sun shines down onto Earth. 2. Earth absorbs some of this energy. 3. Earth then reflects the remaining energy back towards space. 4. Gases such as carbon dioxide trap some of the energy, and prevent it from going back into space. (Carbon dioxide is a gas that traps heat     inside of it, just like many other gases) 5. Frozen surfaces, such as the Arctic, reflect some of the sunlight energy back into space, preventing the Earth from overheating. Here's what is happening... 1. Frozen surfaces, such as the Arctic, have started melting, taking away our mirror to reflect sunlight energy back into space. How Is This Happening? People are burning too much greenhouse gas by burning things, or just plain old transportation. Forests help moderate the climate, but people are cutting more forests down every year.
