Yo HO it's Andrew the champ from BC
Wednesday July 12
Ontario produces remarkable success at the Canadian Junior Championships winning medals in almost every event entered.
Max Xia the little pint size kid hardly reaching the table looped his way into the finals, Hollie Lau teamed up with a girl from Manitoba,
upset both the number 1 seeds then the number 4 seeds and raced all the way to the finals, Jai wai Liu took honours with a complete set of medals,
in all her events winning GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE.
The number one seeds in the girls 18 doubles had the biggest upset of the tournament, Mo Zhang and Fanni Csaba were
oused by none other than Yuri Chu and co ! Louis Wong also capture a silver in his category. Angi and Jai Wia teams up and became
the now reingning double pair for their age group, but despite our efforts none could touch the total domination of Andrew Ho of BC!
as he won both the U15 and U18 single events and is therefore now the KING of the Juniors....
ALL hail KING ANDREW... all hail King Andrew
In the Girls 18 category... MO is the show! Yup I mean Mo Zhang, for after her exit at the doubles event, Mo set her target on the GOLD and never looked back in the singles and Mixed doubles events
And now back to MAX... You deserve the sportsman of the tournament (Gave a point to his opponent when even the umpire and his opponent did not see it) YUP you were right the ball did touch the edge as show on the video! GOOD JOB
And thinking of videos, I now have all the matches for the Ontario players against the other provinces and 3 hours of the Provinces playing against each other including the Quarter Finals/ SemiFinals and Finals events on DVD! Excellent matches! as a matter of fact I have at least 5 hours of footage! Any one who think Canada cannot play Table Tennis will be amazed.
Why Paulo did not win the Championships! Andrew kept the ball to his backhand side and towards his right waist, when Paulo turned to use his forehand, Andrew would send the volley to Paulo's forehand and wide, when it is returned, he would attack to the left side edge of the table, either forcing Paulo to back off the table or use his backhand, and when he used his backhand, his racket angle was a bit too closed
