MATTHEW IS A DELIGHTFUL 14 YEAR OLD BOY. BORN SEPTEMBER 25TH 1988 AFTER A DIFFICULT BIRTH, HE WAS DEPRIVED OF OXYGEN WHICH LEFT HIM WITH PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE...IN MANY WAYS MATTHEW IS A VERY TYPICAL BOY BUT IN OTHER WAYS HE IS A 2 YEAR OLD. HE CANNOT SPEAK, OR CARE FOR HIMSELF. DAILY ROUTINES THAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED LIKE SHOWERING, DRESSING, BRUSHING TEETH, ARE ALL CHALLENGES. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CONVERSATION WITH MY SON...ALTHOUGH HE LOVES TO SAY "HEY MOMMA" . MY FATHER HAS ALWAYS SAID THAT MATTHEW WILL SPEAK WHEN HE HAS SOMETHING TO SAY...

HE EAGERLY GREETS EACH DAY WITH A SMILE...HE HAS A WARMTH THAT HE PASSES TO EVERY PERSON WHO HAS THE PRIVLEGE TO MEET HIM. HE IS MY CONSTANT, MY INSPIRATION, MY JOY, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND I AM HONERED TO SHARE MY LIFE WITH ONE OF GODS TRUE ANGELS....
