People post on the avatar chat board saying they'll sell an avatar item in their shop (Meuka pinata is the most common, but I've seen Icy Snowflake boards). They tell people to refresh at a certain time, then they put in a false item, such as Meuka Halloween Costume, which is way overpriced. In short, they take advantage of impulse buying, the avatar craze, and the want for profit. Always be aware of what you are buying!

Neopets has started to give Premium Members their own neomail (just like real email) yourusername@neomail.com (not a real link, dont click) Well someone was bound to abuse this. I have already recived a email from Theeneopeetsteam@neomail.com THIS IS VERY TRICKY! If you do not pay attention then it looks like theneopetsteam well its spelled diffrent. However he/she ask for your username and password claming that they are a TNT Member and they will have to freeze your account momentairly. Well if you have a brain you know that the TNT dont ask for pws or any account infomation. But newbies dont know this and will give up the info. Plus the neomail.com part looks like a genuine TNT letter. However the TNT will be @neopets.com The person that sent this letter to me got my email off of a board, while talking to a friend I (not thinking) posted my email address. So dont post email addresses to avoid this.

Advice.. The BEST way to be certain that you are loging in to a REAL neopets page, if your active pet pops up at the Username: and Password: page. If not and its the box with the X Make sure you check the URL, if its a fake login page, then they dont know what your pet would be :)

Sometimes when you go too fast, you may be fooled into buying a plushie paint brush. Scammers will put it on the trading post or in an auction. They will describe it as a normal paint brush, hoping that you will read too quickly and bid thinking that it is a paint brush. Remember to always check the name of the item.

K this scam can get you probably only a warning but still be safe. If some one has anything in their trades that says that you can win money if you make a certain type of trade report them.

Okay, I almost fell for this scam.. Say that you are browsing in a shop and find a faerie for 500 neopoints right? Well, I found that one day and I clicked on it to buy it.. Then when It came up, it had the login form on it.. Then I knew it was a scam.. PLEASE look for the link that it will take you to before you but it!! It should say something with the Neopet name it in!!! Don't fall for the fake login screen!

Well this is sort of a scam it can have you lose many ctoons. Most people know of it, it deals with live trades. In the live trade window you might select something you see in their inventory you want and they might select about 10 things they want from your inventory but due to a glitch I guess you'd call it only a few might show up making you think it's a great deal. You hit accept the trade go to your inventory and find out youre missing many of your ctoons. So be very careful in this and refresh the page often because that usually helps. Non-live trades used to be the way to go but now they have taken them away! Personally I do not know why they took away the only 100% safe way of trading we had . But it appears we will not be getting them back so for now well all just have to be extremely careful when live trading. So don't let yourself get scammed by this. -coffee lovin ben

People that tell you to send your pass along with an html code to 34873646 or 390427434 and say its the neopets bank are liars, and they say you must have like a platnuim extra to do this cheat, the only reason they say this is so they can scam people with big money. Most of the neopets admin's accounts arnt to rich. Like one said it had 12,454 np. I have over 100,000 np than that! So why should you try and get rich off of an account thats poorer than you? There all scammers and ive caught 6 now.

There is a new scam going around with 'Free' accounts... The way it works is this: A scammer 'gives' you a free account, or you 'win' a very simple contest where the prize is an account. You log into the account, and of course change the password. Now the scam can go 2 different ways.... The scammer is hoping that you will either 1 - add good cToons to this account 2 - change the password to the same password you use for ALL your accounts. The scammer then goes into orbit and clicks the 'I forgot my password' button for this account. This sends the password to the eMail address on file, the one USED TO REGISTER THE ACCOUNT! At best you will loose the 'free' account. At worst, you will loose the rest of your cZones if you used the same password for all of them. For your protection, when getting a 'free' account ALWAYS ask for the email address, and change that first. If they won't give you the address, or they give a fake address, assume that you are being spoofed.
