| . T A M E R - E Q U I P M E N T . | | Tamers are pretty pathetic when they get into the Digital World; their entire purpose, really, is supplemental to Digimon. They can't fight Digimon (they'll get killed), they can't be attacked by Digimon (they'll get killed), they can't taunt Digimon (they'll get killed), which pretty much relegates them to hiding behind trees and pressing buttons on their Digivice until their Partners kill the enemy. This is awkward. In order to facilitate people not being offed the instant they touch down in the Digital World, Terminus has created specially-encoded items, which can only be handled by a Tamer and which can only be activated by a specific Tamers Data Signature. These weapons and armour were made so that Tamers will not be completely helpless when attacked by Digimon. They are good. You will love them. | | W E A P O N S | | The first thing a Tamer thinks they need is always an offensive ability. I'm not quite sure why this is, that people are more at ease when they have something pointy than when they have something that keeps them from being killed if something managed to bypass their pointy thing; although I guess it helps that this Quest is actually up.
You can look into obtaining your Tamer Weapon here; and to complement it, you can look into obtaining Alchemy as well. | | A R M O U R | | Even though armour gets no love, it's absolutely vital to having a well-balanced Tamer, offensively and defensively, and ensuring your survival in the Digital World. Armour will allow you to sustain damage in place of your Digimon (without the dying bit), as well as utilize the other half of the Soulfire lineup that Weapons cannot react with. Provide link | | S O U L F I R E | | Soulfire are the crystalline orbs that allow you to activate various powers -- imbuing Elemental attributes, absorbing Elemental damage, increasing your damage output or decreasing your opponent's, and even helping your Digimon out a little without direct Tamer interference. Different colours of Soulfire have different connotations and allow different abilities, and certain colours (actually... all the colours except Black Soulfire) are relegated to one type of equipment. They are a vital part of the Tamer Offensive Experience, though; without them, you really can't do too much. Again |
