Dane T.R.A.I.N.
Transporting Rescued Animals In Need
The "Dane Train" is a group of volunteers who are willing to transport Danes, Dane mixes, and on occasion honorary Danes from shelters and other neglectful situations into rescues and forever homes. The volunteers will each take a leg and transport the Dane to a meet point, where another volunteer will take the next leg, until the dog is at the destination.
If you would like to volunteer, please send an e-mail to danetrain@danetrain.org with "Dane Train" in the subject line, and let us know your GDR nickname, and we'll send you a form to fill out. When a Dane Train is being organized through your area, you'll be contacted by e-mail or telephone and asked if you're able to help at that time. If you represent a dane rescue group that would like to help us to find homes for the danes in need, send an e-mail to danetrain@danetrain.org, with "Dane Train" in the subject line, and let us know where your rescue is located.
Unfortunately we do not have the ability to cover countries other than the U.S. at this time, though as I understand it there are already Dane Trains in existence in Canada and parts of Europe. We already have great coverage so far! The highlighted yellow lines represent the one-way driving distances of our volunteers. The bolder black lines show where we have full coverage.
