The Black Triangles

Sometime in the late 80's, we were in South Edmonton. My husband James and I were sitting in our hot tub in the back yard and noticed three triangular-shaped objects. They were flying from west to east at a very high altitude at a rapid pace, in a V-formation. They flew directly over the peak of our split-level home and disappeared from view. After about two minutes, they came back over the same peak of the house, flying to the west. Now there were seven of them flying in a V-formation. There were three objects on the left of the V and four objects on the right. The formation did a very sharp turn to the north and disappeared instantly. The night sky was clear. There were no clouds in sight. The objects made no sound.

About five years later, we saw them again!

The Perseid meteor shower was disappointing but we had a great show

August 11, 1993

We were in the backyard in northeast Edmonton having a BBQ with friends. It was around 10:30 pm MST. We were watching the night sky, looking for the meteorite shower when a ten-year-old boy and I saw three triangular-shaped objects moving from west to east in a V-formation. They looked like the same kind my wife Roberta and I saw back in the 80's, but these were much higher in the sky. The rest of people present did not see these objects. I commented to them that the 10-year-old and I saw objects that were not meteorites.

The rest of the group looked up at the night sky to see what I was referring to. The objects were moving from east to west. The rest of the group saw the objects as round white balls that were "dancing". As some of the children in the group wanted to know what we were looking at, a comment was made that they were "ducks. Not much was discussed in detail other than most people in the group agreed that they had never seen anything fly in a formation such as what they saw. It was agreed that the objects were moving in a back and forth pattern that looked like they were playing or dancing.
