The Sand in the Painting -

"The Sand in the Painting", ISBN: 1-4241-1168-4, is now available from PublishAmerica, amazon.co.uk, amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.  Type "Catherine Edmunds" into the search facility, and there you go, folks.  Just don't buy it for your maiden aunt, unless she enjoys 'fruity' language.  Oh, and not suitable for any kids under eighteen.  Not that it's smutty or anything.  Just adult.  And a flippin' good read too, even though I say so myself; in the 'adult contemporary fiction' genre.  If you're in the UK and would like to purchase a signed copy, just let me (valley/delph) know.

Enjoy

THE STONE OF PITHAN -

The novel is a darkly amusing philosophical statement about the dangers of meddlingwith DNA.  The story begins with a series of major world events that become woven together by bizarre coincidences, and a new religion emerges that is based on Chaos Theory.

This novel was released as a free ebook in 2001 and has been downloaded over 3000 times.

If you are feeling particularly generous then you can buy it in print from amazon and a whole load of other places on the internet.

Shaking The Apple Trees
The Stories of Henry Jesse Hatton
Author:  Janice Monk Glass

     This book was created when Jake, Jim Bob, and Jesse began intruding into another novel that I was writing. They were industrious, fun loving, endearing characters with friends, families, and stories that deserved a book of their own.
     The folks portrayed and the Benson Community which I located in southwest Arkansas are fictional.  The escapades are real and were gleaned over a lifetime from family, friends, and other good folks who laugh and declare their innocence of the events.  I hope you enjoy reading their stories as much as I enjoyed hearing them.

Excerpt From The Book:

     As it happened, that was the Saturday of the month that the ladies got together at the church house and prepared clothing for the needy.  They'd spent all day mending, washing, and ironing all those clothes real nice.  They'd laid them out on tables by the wall and were getting ready to sort them into sizes when an oversized and overripe melon crashed through the window and smashed into the wall, flinging juice everywhere.
     All the ladies screamed.
     Old Miss Potter shrieked, "It's the work of the devil!"
     Sallie Mae yelled, "It's the work of Jake Benson, and we're going to kill him!"
     Christian charity was left behind when fourteen juice covered woman stormed out of that church house.  Those ladies were all hell bent on murder.  It was a good thing that Sheriff Bob and Deputy Potter got to our place the same time as those women.
     Sheriff Bob couldn't find anything in his book about flying melons.  There just wasn't anything that said a melon was a weapon. They weren't really guided missiles; he couldn't us that against us. They weren't discharged from any firearm, so it wasn't an act of war. By the time he read through his book, he realized that he couldn't even fuss at us.
     He couldn't figure out how we were throwing melons on t'other side of the creek and cleaning barns at home at the same time; but he knew we done it. By the time he got into his patrol car and drove away, he'd chewed plumb through his pipe stem.

Reviews:

I found "Shaking The Apple Trees, The Stories of Henry Jesse Hatton" to be absolutely great reading.  The stories have something for everyone in them with the ability to stir the reader to an incident of their own from the past.

I really enjoyed this book, especially the story about the big, green, and ugly spacemen, and the one about the watermelon chunking catapult.  The snake stories were entertaining, too.  This book is fun to read.

Hope watermelons....now who would think to use them in a story?  Those good ol' boys up north, with their punkin chunkins, don't have a thing on good ol' Arkansas ingenuity.  Since Arkansas ain't exactly known for it punkins, we'll chunk watermelons instead.  Great reading!

Check out my poetry book, "Moments In A Manic Mind" -

Moments In A Manic Mind is a collection of poems I have written over the past 15 years. It is an eclectic blend of emotions felt and life experienced as a young adult suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder.The reader will travel through three stages :

1.)Love found, lost, and longed for;

2.)A downward spiral of the mind into insanity, abuse,

     and to the edge of death;

 3.)The struggle back to reason through hope,

determination, and faith.

 This book is compiled as a testament to the trials, tribulations, and spirit of a person with a mind in hyper-drive.

Below are a few reviews of my book. Enjoy, and thanks for showing interest!!

    "I found the book of poems by Charles Hull, Moments in a Manic Mind, shockingly real yet sometimes mystic which held my interest from beginning to end.  We can all find a little part of ourselves at certain points in our lives in these poems.  My favorite poem is 'The Spirit in the Well', keeping alive the notion and hope of everlasting love!"

   Very raw and in your face emotional work. These are very powerful poems, some dark with pain screaming through the words, others overflowing with passion of emotional discontent and yet there is hope. Your words touched my soul. Pain,disappointment, betrayal by one you love, all emotions came through. There is so much intensity in your words it is sometimes hard to hold back the tears. Battling demons on paper is the sanest thing you can do. There is indeed hope when the ultimate intent is growth through introspection. I really encourage you to keep writing.

Leslie H., Kansas

   "Your book touches every aspect of love, love lost,love found, and the emotions that ran rampant in wanting to die. Yet, knowing it's a life worth living, Kudos to you!
The spirit in the well touched my heart, and Within the broken Mirror is a reflection that we all see and understand. Keep writing. The more I read the better it gets. I am looking forward to your next book!"
